Christmas is a time of dreams and our dream is finally coming true!!

Our first ever Eparchial Lay Formation Alumni gathering is taking place so this is a “Save the Date” post!

The dates are March 16-17, 2012.  Fr. Larry Kondra, C.Ss.R will be the guest speaker. Venue to be advised, but in Saskatoon.

Our dream is to gather all five classes of Lay Formation Alumni (that would be 53 of you! See who they all are!) to meet, have fun, and share their experiences and ask ourselves: What now?

The other great news is that Patriarch Sviatoslav is coming to visit Saskatoon in September, 2012. Here is a once in a life time opportunity.  In case you don’t know, he was elected in March of this year, he is a young man (41) and a very good speaker.   He has a great vision for our Church and wants to share it with us.   He will be in Saskatoon from 18 September to the 24 September.

He wants to meet with Catechists and Lay Formation Alumni (you are part of his vision for the Church!) and we have tentatively booked Saturday, September 22 in Saskatoon.  Time and place to be advised.

Just to catch you up.  We have started a 6th Eparchial Lay Formation Program and we have 16 Participants.  The Program has changed over the years.  We’ve added more Byzantine content and we invite you to come and see any time you are available. We’ll give you a taste in March.

In preparation for the March event, we’d like to know what you’ve been up to.  Email us how you’ve been involved in ministry since you’ve graduated from Lay Formation.  We would love to hear your story.  Remember ‘ministry’ encompasses anything, everything as big and as wide as God is.

Of course, we all have deadlines.  Could you email us by December 20th, 2011?? We are meeting with Fr. Larry and brainstorming how the event will go!
